Acrylic, oil pastel, and shellac on canvas
100 × 70 cm
This work explores weight and release through layered pours and controlled interruption. Dense, rust-toned bands move across the surface before breaking into vertical drips, echoing stalagmite-like formations that build through accumulation over time, creating a tension between containment and collapse. Earlier marks remain partially visible beneath the surface, scraped back, obscured, and reasserted, giving the piece a sense of memory and sedimentation. The gloss of shellac contrasts with matte passages, shifting the work subtly with light and movement.
